Peony transplant

Not all gardeners adhere to the idea of ​​an autumn transplant of peonies. Many consider the spring transplant to be more benign, and sometimes a transplant, even in summer. However, if you do not miss the right time for transplantation of peonies (late summer, early September), the plant will have time to take root, get stronger and prepare for frost and cold. Choose a day for transplant, need cloudy weather or evening. Before transplanting, it is necessary to trim the pions.

Dig a bush out of the ground. In order not to damage the roots, do not use a shovel. Gently, with the help of a fork, remove the bush from the ground and quietly free from excess land. In order not to damage the roots, it is better not to tap the trunk with something, but to break the clods with your hands. Put the bush in the shade for a few hours.
During this time, inspect the pion root system, if necessary, remove old, dry or damaged roots. After completion, treat the roots with a solution of potassium permanganate.
After a few hours, the roots will get stronger, become elastic. Plant the peonies in the prepared holes, sprinkle with soil.
The first buds, which appeared the next year after transplantation, are recommended by experts to be removed, so that the flower does not spend strength on flowering, but becomes strong and large.
